Job Description
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with project goals and cost-saving targets, ensuring that all materials are sourced efficiently.
- Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers, assess their capabilities, and negotiate contracts that provide the best value for the company.
- Collaborate with engineering and project teams to understand technical specifications and requirements, ensuring that purchased materials meet project standards.
- Manage supplier relationships effectively, monitoring performance and resolving issues to maintain continuity of supply and quality.
- Analyze procurement data and market trends to forecast needs and make informed decisions, optimizing inventory levels and reducing lead times.
- Prepare and issue purchase orders, ensuring compliance with company policies and procurement regulations throughout the process.
- Implement and maintain procurement best practices, including supplier audits and performance evaluations to foster continuous improvement.
- Coordinate with logistics and supply chain teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and minimize disruptions in project timelines.
- Stay updated on industry developments and advancements in procurement technologies, adopting new tools to enhance efficiency.
- Provide training and support to junior procurement staff, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence within the procurement team.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical and Instrumentation), or a related field is essential for understanding technical requirements.
- A minimum of 5+ years of experience in procurement within the engineering or construction sectors, demonstrating a solid understanding of industry-specific needs.
- Must have Oil and Gas EPC industry experience
- Experience with procurement software and tools, including ERP systems, to streamline purchasing processes and improve efficiency.
- Fluency in English is required, with additional language skills in Arabic or Mandarin considered a strong advantage.
- Strong analytical skills to assess supplier performance data and market conditions, enabling strategic decision-making.
- Excellent negotiation skills, with a proven ability to secure favorable terms and prices from suppliers.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders effectively.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to quality and compliance, ensuring all procurement activities meet company standards.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously, demonstrating strong organizational and time-management skills.
